Working in Partnership with Parents

I recognise that parents are the child‘s primary carer and educator and know the importance of working together with parents in caring and educating their child. It is helpful to me for parents to give feedback on how their child has been since their last session; any special events that they have been involved in which the child may like to talk about or may have caused tiredness or the child to be especially excited or upset.

All this information helps me respond most effectively to the child’s individual needs and I will always respond in the strictest of confidence over any personal information given by the parent/family or child.

I will aim to keep records of children’s progress and development and share these with parents. All information is available anytime for parents to see. All children’s files are confidential and will only be seen by myself and the child’s parents and relevant professionals if necessary.

Information about the child’s day is shared daily with the child’s parents by verbal report and any work that the child has done is shown to the parents if it is on display. Every child has a folder to keep there work in which they will have a lot of input into what goes in it.

All information about the child and parent is kept confidential.
